The Atkins Chocolate Hazelnut Bars are very tasty. I have tried a few different diet/protein bars in the past but this was different somehow it was actually chocolate and hazelnut not an imitation medley of mixed food flavoring and zinc this was a great tasting snack bar. It says on the wrapper morning snack, light breakfast, Day Break. So don’t expect a king size. The thing that I didn’t like was it was a little hard to bite into especially when chilled such as when left in vehicle overnight for the morning commute to the 9 to fiver. Other than that I still cant believe these things are engineered to help with the weight loss associated with a low carb dieting. I actually don’t mind eating them its not like giving up all the things you like to eat for a diet when you’re eating a hazelnut chocolate bar instead of pizza.

Worlds biggest procrastinator doing Atkins Phase 1

OK I gotta admit Im not the worlds biggest procrastinator but I guarantee you. I am one of the laziest people you’ll ever see trying to lose weight doing a diet. The following is just a little of my story and if you like you can follow along and watch my progress as I attempt to go from 220+ pounds to around 190 pounds. I would appreciate any critiquing of my diet regime or of my blogging ability. Neither of which is supported by higher learning. I’ve built and designed this web blog by myself with just the internet as a resource. So just be warned Im not a professional. Just a guy trying to make a difference.

It started last year (2012) I came up with what I thought would be a great micro niche website. I originally was just gonna write a few articles post a few links and then monetize it. I was not sure of the outcome because I’ve been down this road putting new Irons in the fire and usually the fire just goes out. Well in the past year I’ve had little success (Depends on your definition actually) with my web blog building. I tried back linking and social marketing and due to my limited experience I had little to well lets say no luck.

So after spreading the word at work about my website Atkinsphase1.com I kept hearing the same questions. How much did you loose, was the diet hard to stick with, were the diet foods any good would you recommend a diet over another diet. I found myself with the same resounding answer.

I don’t know! YIKES!!

I bet that’s not what my faithful readers wanna hear. I decided its time for change and as of October 2013 I decided to make a change. It started off easy enough. I thought I knew everything about the Atkins Diet (Well at least I thought I did) and because I knew so much I figured if I was gonna follow a guide to dieting. I might as well follow my own blog and advice.

Oct. 21 2013 I started phase 1 of the Atkins Diet. That is when it hit me I didn’t know near as much about the Atkins Diet as I thought I did. Dont get me wrong I knew quite a few things about the diet and its different phases but I didn’t know diddly squat about carbohydrates or how to count them Such as you are allowed to deduct fiber or sugar alcohols from total carb count. Heck I didn’t even know how to count carbs right until after my first 2 weeks. So I was on the most restricted level of the Atkins diet and I was following the allowable food list to a T for the whole 2 weeks of induction phase. I was still able to loose over 12 pounds on the Atkins Phase 1 See the video of my before and after Atkins Phase 1 (Above).

Well since that first 2 weeks I have begun what I hope to be a lifelong journey on the road to recovery. Now the phase 1 is done and I was able to find a few Atkins Nutritionals products on the shelf at a Walmart here locally. And with their help and a better frame of mind (like loosing 12 pounds in 14 days) That puts it in perspective a little bit. Well now I know It works and with the help of the Atkins Nutritionals bars and convenience supplements I am able to say Low-Carb dieting is the way to go.I have not been eating a lot of carbs and sugars like I used to.

    3. 2 hard boiled eggs and 4 strips of bacon
    4. Mock Danish plus 2 strips bacon
    5. Faux Oatmeal plus a slice of ham

Lunch

    1. 1 cup salad greens, 1 cup sliced turkey or ham (sugarfree), 2 tbsp sugar free Dressing of choice
    2. 3/4 Homemade Chicken Salad, Black and Green Olives, Celery Sticks with 1 oz. Cream Cheese
    3. 2 fried all beef patties, cup of cucumbers sliced, 1 stalk of celery, 2 or 3 radishes, fresh mushrooms sliced
    4. 3 cups of lettuce salad, w/shredded cheese and chicken breast (cut up)
    5. Medium salad: mixed greens, radishes, cucumbers, red cabbage (shredded) 3-4 oz grilled chicken sliced thinly a little bit of shredded cheese Homemade blue cheese dressing

Salmon N Veggies

Dinner

    1. Stir fry chicken breasts in olive oil with green pepper and mushrooms. Season lightly with garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder
    2. 4-6 oz grilled salmon or other fish and broccoli with melted butter
    3. 2 Chicken thighs baked in Diet Rite Cola, 1/2 cup green beans with bacon, garlic and onions, Mixed Salad Greens w/ Ranch Dressing
    4. Salmon steak grilled to perfection and served with a colorful side salad of wild greens
    5. Pork or steak sauteed in olive oil w/green peppers and onions or green peppers and mushrooms, Usually reserved for a good ole Saturday night

To Drink

Decaf. Coffee, Tea, water or Herbal non carb hot tea with splenda and a touch of cream
